Arrorgon's Backstory

Description

Arrorgon is one of the most interesting, if not the most fastening individuals in all of Tamriel. The Altmer are able to live to an age of 1000 years old, but very many are able to even reach that age due to disease or the act of violence that this land is very well known for. Arrorgon however, has reached that age and then some, surpassing the age of 1000 to this day. But many wonder how its possible. The High Elves as we know sees themselves are the superior race among everyone else in all Tamriel, and its no question that Arrorgon is one of those Altmers who has that very same mindset, but it still begs the question on how even he could live past 1000 without the aid of Vampirism, and its been more than once where he‘s escaped death. Or even has comeback from the dead itself. Some say he’s immortal, others say he’s found the Fountain of Youth. There are even rumors that state a Breton knows the true secret behind Arrorgon, but he was killed many years ago and is now rumored to be a vampire. But no one knows for sure....But I know. I know the true story of Arrorgon, I know what he really is. So if you will all sit down and listen to my tale of The Altmer known as Arrorgon....

Our story begins in the Second Era, during the Alliance War between the Ebonheart Pact, the Daggerfall Covenant, and the Aldmeri Dominion. On the Dominion, we met a High Elf at the age of 350 years old. A Sourer named Arrorgon who serves under Queen Ayrenn. Arrorgon was valuable warrior to the Queen during the way as he was one, if not, the most powerful mage of her army. His skill with Destruction, Restoration, Conjuration was nothing but outstanding to the eye of the beholder. Even having the power to summon and control small armies of Dremoras at his command. He helped the Dominion quite well in the war, but he did have very questionable methods. Whenever he was set out on a task with one or more member of the Dominion, they all had a tendency of not returning afterwards. This was because they were all either killed or left behind, and that’s because Arrorgon chose to leave them behind. Sources say he only left behind the weak who couldn’t make it back alive, but there was also speculation that he would kill members of his own alliance on purpose. What’s even more mysterious, is that any bodies that were found who went with Arrorgon all were down to the skeleton. No cuts, no signs of being burned alive, or stab wounds. As if the life of their bodies was sucked out and that was left.

Arrorgon had a dark past before joining the war. We back track a bit, both his parents were kill by unknown causes at birth, and was raised by an Orphanage in Skyrim. At an early age, he discovered magic but began using the destruction part of it. He burned down his orphanage that he was raised in, and he was the only one who made it out alive. Weather this was an accident or intentional, the Altmer wasn’t phased about it one bit. After that, he vanished for little bit over a hundred years, as no one knows where he went. Before his disappearance, he was visited by a Daedra Prince. He was visited by Molag Bal, one of these most dangerous of al Dadera Princes. He saw a great power in the young Altmer, a power he wanted to control. The Daedra offered him immortality though vampirism and become his champion, but Arrorgon refused. The young elf was a clever one for one at his age, and had a counter offer. He agreed to still be his champion, and become immortal but though his own method. Giving Arrorgon the power to absorb the soul of any living, breathing thing and use their soul to make himself younger. Not only that, but that he could use these souls to bring himself back to life, and that the only way for him to lose his power was to be challenged to combat for his power and lose. Molag Bal laughed as giving any mortal such a powerful would be too dangerous, but Arrorgon responded, “Then wouldn’t that make me all the more powerful champion for you, my lord?” The Daedra grinned, he was quite impressed on how well of a tongue Arrorgon had for a mortal. Molag Bal agreed to these terms as he gave the Altmer his Mace and the deal was struck.

The Altmer would travel though the lands of Tamriel as a secret agent for the Thalmor and Dominion, always plotting the downfall of all and any he comes in contract with so he can steal their soul, as he grew more powerful with each soul he absorbs. He became so powerful, he did what few mortals have ever done before. In the Third Era (During the time of Oblivion) he called out the Daedra Prince himself, and told him face to face he’s done serving him and being his champion. Molag Bal laughed at the High Elf, and agreed to duel him, if only he put up his powers on the line and to become his slave forever if he loses...Arrorgon accepted and began combat with the Daedra. The battle if fierce as if he fires from hell themselves were heating up the battle. Molag Bal threw everything he had the Arrorgon, and uses every dirty trick in the book, but the Altmer was too intelligent even for the Daedra himself and was defeated by the High Elf. As it turns out, Molag Bal was the fool in this deal rather than the mortal, as Arrorgon was now ready to suck the life out of the Daedra Price. But he was able to escape and return back to Oblivion, escaping...for now.

Arrorgon now became the most feared mortal of them all, and no one else even know his power but the Dadera and anyone who has lived to see the evils of Arrorgon. For years, he has fooled everyone he has come encounter with, including the Dominion and Thalmor as Arrorgon just uses them to gain his greed for power. Molag Bal has been figuring out ways to kill the Altmer, but nothing ever seemed to work. His best chance was another champion he had years later, one known now as The Great Brandini, but no one knows where he is to this day, not even the Daedra Prince himself knows...

Listen to me, now! I...I don’t know where I am, but I just told you the truth about Arrorgon, but now you know! Please, you must share this with someone, anyone! The guards, the Jarl, maybe even the Thalmor! Anyone! Either way, Arrorgon must be sto-GAH! *The Narrator is stopped a hand is placed on his head, and his life decades as he’s turned into a skeleton. Behind him, is Arrorgon.*

Arrorgon: Don’t mind him, you know how humans are. Always making up ludicrous stories and whatnot. *He lets out an evil chuckle*  However, it seems you know too much and, well...*His eyes began to glow green along with his right hand, which he sticks out to you.*  That’s a nice soul you have....

*Everyone turns black as you hear the evil laugh of Arrorgon....*

(Hey guys! Thanks for reading Arrorgon's backstory, I put a whole lot of thought into his because he's my main Elder Scrolls series antagonist and I wanted him to be perfect so thank you for reading! Looks like now I need hire a new narrator though since Arrorgon took his soul...damn Elf.... Anyways, thanks again for reading, I have one more character from  ESO I'm gonna share with you but he's gonna have a connection to one of my friend's ESO character so we'll be working on that together and that will come to you all in the near future. So now I know all about this huge antagonist! I thought Tolk and Godzummy and the gang were a bit over their head when they first met him. ;)
Although, I am certain all of the elves are only able to live a good 300 years at max. I can see how Arrorgon can exceed that but it made your bit at the beginning a little inaccurate, including the bit about the violent land. The Summerset Isles are uniquely peaceful, at least to the extent we/I know.
Besides that though, he sounds pretty powerful and scary. Poor narrator, and nice trick there. :iconwinkwinkplz: I almost want to say poor Molag as well! He must have been pretty off his game to not notice how powerful Arrorgon was getting.

I suppose Monday you plan on getting to work on our characters for the Covenant. :)

Also, I hate to say, but time hasn't treated Arrorgon too well. :p
